I’ve been around hairdressers for as long as I can remember. Coming from a family that owned a salon, hairdressing has always been in my blood, and I knew from an early age that I wanted to continue the family business.

My parents opened the salon in 1984 and it has always been a special place for me. When I was 13 years old, I started washing hair here, it was hard work, but I loved it. I learned everything there is to know about hair styling and colouring and it was here that I discovered my passion.

38 years later, I now own the salon which is still in its original location with its original name, Upstairs Downstairs. We’ve grown quite a bit over the years and refreshed our look, but we remain well known in the community for offering the best haircuts and colour treatments in town.

I love colouring and cutting hair and I specialise in cutting short hair. It feels great to help other people feel better about themselves and I take a lot of pride in my work. I love making everyone feel comfortable and welcome and I think this is what keeps our customers coming back to us.
